The Spectrex system is an automatic fire/fuel explosion detection and
suppression system, specifically designed for MRAP Tactical Vehicles providing
increased survivability against fires initiated by IED's and penetrating
munitions.
In the troop compartment - the system protects personnel by reducing pressure build-up resulting from fuel explosions, limiting skin damage and minimizing formation of toxic gaseous by-products.
In the engine compartment - the system has the capability of detecting overheat and fire and of successfully extinguishing fuel fires.
The system is based on two independent systems, one for the troop compartment and the second for the engine compartment.
